Team Hawkes runner Longeron ($6) has reportedly taken plenty of benefit from his first-up run and remains outright favourite in 2015 Kilmore Cup betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Freshwater Storm and Majestic Duke; currently sharing the second line at generous $6.50 quotes

Will Longeron justify favouritism and win the 2015 Kilmore Cup or will one of his talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Longeron ($6)

Posting six wins and a further nine minors through 28 career starts so far, Longeron is drawn ideally in barrier 2 and will have no issue in carrying 55.5kgs in the 2015 Kilmore Cup. Capping a strong and consistent autumn preparation a close fourth in a Winter Championship Heat (1600m) on July 1st, the Lonhro gelding was unlucky to be checked late but still managed a credible sixth in the Emirates Airline Handicap (1400m) first-up on Stakes Day and will be tough to beat on Sunday.

2nd

Majestic Duke ($6.50)

The stable of Terry and Karina O’Sullivan has produced a number of impressive Stakes winners through the 2015 Spring Carnival so far, and are offered a good chance of a positive result in the Kilmore Cup via Majestic Duke. While facing a reasonable step up in distance, the Churchill Downs gelding ran a close second to Tycoon Tara in the China Bowl (1300m) last time and appears primed for another big performance on Sunday.

3rd

Evangelist ($21)

Consistent Tony McEvoy-trained gelding Evangelist is a country cups specialist and undoubtedly offers punters the best value for money at current Kilmore Cup odds of $21 for success or $6 to finish in the first three. The classy son of Oasis Dream charged home to win the Listed Sale Cup (1600m) first-up on October 25th and will relish a step-up in distance on Sunday.
